Climate Change Issue, Greenhouse Gas Effects, Stop Global Warming Now!

Are we having Global Warming or are we going into an Ice Age? The truth is:We are not the cause of Global Warming. At most, only 3% of the carbon dioxide (CO2) in the air results from human activity.

The amount of CO2 presently in the air absorbs nearly all available radiation at its peaks of 2.7, 4.3 and 15 µM; so more CO2 cannot absorb more radiation.

17,000 (Seventeen thousand!) scientists signed a petition saying humans producing CO2 is not the cause of global warming.

The 30% increase in atmospheric CO2 over the past 100 years is from oceans releasing CO2 because they are heating up. Oceans heat the air, not the other way around.

The oceans are heating because of undersea volcanoes, because of the movement of the earth’s crust. Scientists recently discovered over 1,100 volcanoes near Easter Island! Some are huge – over 1.5 miles high. And we have only mapped 5% of the ocean so far!

Most of us were taught in school that there was only one big ice age. Since that time, much new information has been learned. We have in fact had hundreds of ice ages. Many of them were “mini” ice ages, where most of Europe and the North American continent were covered in thousands of feet of ice all year round. However, at those times, temperatures below the ice line were only about 5 degrees F less than today, and temperatures at the equator were the same as today.

The sun is electromagnetic. That’s what causes sun spots. These are increasing at the moment. The earth also is electromagnetic. At different times, magnetic north changes position, sometimes a little bit and sometimes doing a full reversal with magnetic south. It is possible that these changes are caused by our changing position in the galaxy.

In the past, when there were magnetic reversals, volcanic activity, earthquakes, ice ages and extinctions happened at the same time. New research indicates that ice ages do not start off slowly. They happen within a very short space of time – EVEN AS LITTLE AS TWO OR THREE YEARS. Worldwide temperatures in the past have dropped by 20 degrees F ALMOST OVERNIGHT.

Ice ages happen with regularity every 11,500 years. The last mini ice age ended almost 11,500 years ago.

Snow makes ice. When there is enough snow, it compacts the underneath snow into ice. Then it starts to flow south. That’s how glaciers get made.

One inch of rain produces 10 inches of snow. In 2007 part of Colorado received THIRTY FEET of snow in ONE STORM.

It’s cold enough in the Arctic right now to cause an ice age. All that is needed is more moisture to produce enough snow. This is being provided by warming oceans caused by undersea volcanoes.

There are many indications that we will enter an ice age within our lifetime. Visit www.iceagenow.com to see the list of glaciers that are GROWING. (This is not reported in the media).

Al Gore’s movie “An Inconvenient Truth” is mostly false. However, there is one thing that he got right: warming oceans can stop the oceanic “conveyor belt” which warms the northern part of the world. That can cause an ice age in a remarkably short space of time. It’s strange that he didn’t spend more time talking about he consequences of that happening.

Why This is Important to Everyone:

Even if you don’t live in an area that will be covered in hundreds or thousands of feet of ice, I strongly urge you to read “Not by Fire, but by Ice” to get an idea of how it’s not just about an ice age. Because it’s all todo with magnetic reversals of the poles. Direclty or indirectly, that is what is causing the increases in earthquakes, volcanoes, droughts and flooding and weird weather. And it is going to get worse.

When the ice age comes, everything happens at once – ice, volcanic activity, earthquakes and extinctions.

The worldwide supply of food willl be the thing that is most greatly affected by all of this, at least for several years. Without regular seasons and good weather, little can be grown, even in areas that aren’t under ice. And if one of the big volcanoes go during this time, then we are all in for a lot of trouble. See my article “Global Cataclycsm in 535 A.D. – History’s Greatest Secret”.

Most of this information comes from:

“Not by Fire, but by Ice” by Robert Felix. A book that I urge everyone to read. The Author is an architect who has laboriously read through enough scientific papers so that the reference section is TWENTY EIGHT pages long. He puts it all together in a way that makes a lot of sense and in also in ways that anyone can understand it. See http://www.iceagenow.com.

Global Warming (Are you kidding?)   by Brent O. Smith

It’s February in New Hampshire and it’s cold, real cold. No end in sight. I sure could use some Global Warming!

Global Warming. Is anyone else as tired of that term as I?

I’ve been hearing the drumbeat for a while now. It just keeps louder and louder. We’re doomed in 10 years, 20, 30 years. It’s too late, or not. I can’t keep up. Might the earth be heading into a natural warming trend? Possibly. It’s bound to happen. Is it happening now? If not, when? I don’t know. What I do know is that neither I nor any other human has anything to do with it. The earth has experienced cooling and warming since the beginning of time. Long before we were here.

So why is Global Warming the phenomenon that it is today? I’d like to say it’s simple. I’ve heard some say just ” Follow the money”. Others say that some just want us all to go back to the Stone Age. I’ve also heard the “Nanny Government” just wants to control us. Well, it’s not any of these. It’s all of these. Normally when a scandal or calamitous event is unearthed it has one cause. The Global Warming situation is much more insidious. There are actually three separate factions working against us. And I do mean against us.

The first faction started it all. They are the tree huggers, the environmentalists. I don’t mean the garden-variety recyclers. I mean the wackos. For years normal folks considered them just a humorous nuisance. However, in the 1980’s, we went through a short warming period. To explain this event the term “Greenhouse Effect” was born. Now, of course, this new effect had to be researched.

Enter the second and third factions. The second are the profiteers. The scientists and research facilities that are more than willing to take our money and pump out junk science to justify even more grants for research. The third is the spineless jellyfish known as the politician. The overwhelming majority of research funds don’t come from private industry but from governments. These principled individuals (politicians) stick their moistened fingers in air. They conduct focus groups and polls to decide what to believe and stand for. When they’ve decided it’s safe to throw our money at the disaster du jour they do so without any critical thought at all. They are all too quick to jump on any bandwagon as long as it will gain them popularity and oh yes, VOTES. After all, it’s not their money.

Faction one (the environmentalists) I can forgive. In my opinion they are simply misguided individuals. They have every right (in this country) to believe what they wish. Go ahead and protest, picket or boycott. Just don’t tell me what I must believe.

The politicians and profiteers are much more worrisome. They use fear to prey on the ignorant and guilt-ridden. Fear is a great motivator. The key is to frighten the masses enough for them to fall in line. When enough lemmings are on board you’re free to order them about and spend their money.

About 30 years ago we were warned of the next Ice Age. What happened? Remember CFC’s. They were floating up and depleting the ozone. Now it’s CO2, carbon dioxide. The dreaded greenhouse gas that is drifting up, forming a cozy blanket around the earth and causing the planet to warm. There’s only one problem. Actually there are many problems with this theory (oops, fact). The one I’m stuck on is these gases are heavier than air. CO2 is almost twice as heavy and CFC’s almost four times. How is something that heavy going to float and stay up in the atmosphere? The answer is it can’t. What goes up must come down.

Ever blow up a balloon? You fill it with the exhaust gas from your lungs (CO2). Then tie it off and let it go. It floats away. Right? Wrong. Why? After all, it’s filled with Global Warming emissions. Of course it falls to the ground. Fill it with a lighter than air gas like helium and it will.

I’m not a scientist or a climate expert but I’m also not a lemming. I look at this situation and can only think of how arrogant humans have become. How the human race can think we the have power to destroy the planet when natural forces much more powerful than us can’t.

Just like everything in life, things are constantly changing. Nothing is ever truly static. Same goes with the planet. Ever seen a map of the world millions of years ago? A little different I’d say. Talk about not being static. The only thing we can do is adapt to the inevitable natural shifts in climate and geography. We will not be able to prevent it and we sure aren’t causing it.

I would hope that going forward we question these theories and inject a little common sense and critical thought. There are usually two sides to every story. Unforntunately we have been fed only one.

Evidence of Global Warming – What You Need To Know   by Jeff Plante

Many people around the world continue to deny the negative impact global warming has on our atmosphere. Evidence of global warming around the world seems to run contrary to this belief. Around the world, temperatures are the highest they’ve ever been on record, glaciers in arctic regions are rapidly melting, and disease-spreading insects such as mosquitoes are thriving due to the warmer temperatures. The heat wave that is taking place in many regions of the world is a strong piece of evidence of global warming. Temperatures which have continued to increase in recent years unfortunately have not prompted the correct precautions needed to prevent them from increasing even more.

Global warming is partly believed to result from the release of carbon dioxide and methane that occurs during the burning of fossil fuels. They also result from the cars we drive, which is why there are many efforts by environmental groups to convert our cars to run on alternative fuel sources. In direct relation, deforestation is preventing the absorption of carbon dioxide so that it just continues to build.

Glaciers have been experiencing rapid melting due to increased temperatures. Low-lying areas are beginning to fall victim to rising water levels, and other areas are being threatened to eventually be underwater in the years to come.

Another threat to the world is the spreading of disease that is beginning to increase. Evidence of global warming is showing that mosquitoes, insects known to carry many diseases, are experiencing much longer breeding seasons. Unpredictable atmospheric events, such as hurricanes, create large amounts of standing water and damp areas, which are favorable conditions for insect breeding. Malaria is the primary concern since mosquitoes are known to carry the disease and have the ability to spread it easily to humans. The West Nile Virus is another big concern, especially in regions that have seen an increase in the number of mosquitoes.

Any educated person can see that the evidence of global warming is quite solid. Many of us are living in areas experiencing some of the following changes: higher average temperatures, longer summer seasons, heat waves, hurricane or tropical storm threats, or the threat of floods as a result of melting glaciers. Although the evidence for global warming may not seem to be much of a threat for some, it should be considered that these conditions are expected to get worse as the preventative measures are not being taken seriously.

Green Products and Services Gain Support as Issues of Global Warming and Environmental Contamination Escalate   by Anne-Marie Fleming

EnvironmentStocks.com – Green Building Responds to the Growing Demand for a Clean and Healthy EnvironmentAnn-Marie Fleming, www.EnvironmentStocks.com January 2007

As issues of global warming and problems associated with environmental contamination continue, a growing movement towards ‘green’ products and services are rapidly becoming a key component of the building industry. With global awareness improving through political support, media coverage, and overall education, the rising popularity of environmentally safe products and materials have received a boost, creating opportunities for sector participants such as International Barrier Technology Inc. (OTCBB: IBTGF; TSXV: IBH), manufacturer of environmentally friendly fire resistant building materials.

Buildings have a significant impact on our environment and our economy, which is why there is growing support for improving processes to reduce waste and costs, improve efficiency, promote better health and reduce the effect on the environment. According to the U.S. Green Building Council, buildings in the United States account for 65% of electricity consumption, 30% of greenhouse gas emissions and 30% of raw materials use. Buildings also consume 12% of potable water and produce 30% of waste output.

With global warming at the forefront of environmental discussions, reducing greenhouse gases, and improving energy efficiency have helped drive the adoption of renewable energy as a viable option for green buildings. Solar technology in particular has found its way into buildings helping to create onsite energy generation utilizing a renewable and environmentally safe system.

Outside the energy focus, considerable attention in the green building arena is also being given to protecting the environment from hazardous chemicals through the use of products and materials that are non-toxic. Areas where healthier choices can be made include materials such as fire-retardants, paint, carpets and cleaners that are environmentally safe.

Research data reveals the risks of toxic chemicals with evidence continually being discovered in areas such as the Arctic where fish, polar bears and other animals are showing escalating signs of chemical contamination. Many man-made chemicals enter our water systems, soil, and air during manufacturing, use, disposal, as well as through leaks and fires. These environmentally harmful substances are known to reach great distances, contaminating areas far from the original point of entry as they travel through air and water.

Once chemicals enter the food chain they accumulate and become significantly more concentrated. According to WWF, animals such as seals can have contamination levels millions of times higher that those present in their surroundings, and polar bears, which feed on seals, can show levels more than three billion times higher than the contamination levels their environment reveals. Recent evidence shows poisoning by chemicals commonly used as flame retardants in household items such as carpets, furniture and clothes with data showing a connection between contamination levels in polar bears from the flame retardant polybrominated diphenyls (PBDEs) and the growing rate of hermaphroditism in polar bears.

Dr. Michael Huddy, President and CEO of International Barrier Technology, Inc. (OTCBB: IBTGF; TSXV: IBH) explains, “It is not only the reality of harmful chemicals entering the food chain, but it is also the perception of chemicals and the possibility that they might get into the food chain that is creating interest and frenzy about harmful fire retardant treatments. People are becoming more and more concerned about their health and the health of their environment and are making decisions based on this reality. Due to the fact that International Barrier’s products have no harmful chemicals, with all of our materials being environmentally safe without any risks of leaching out into the groundwater, we have established a valuable alternative choice for designers and builders.”

As consumers and businesses become more aware of the risks that many commonly used chemicals can pose on our environment, the shift towards adoption of non-toxic and environmentally friendly products have increased and are rapidly playing a bigger part in today’s commercial and residential construction as well as daily activities.

New construction and also retrofits are benefiting socially, economically and environmentally from the implementation of green products and technology. As buildings are increasing its use of non-toxic chemicals and integrating purification systems such as air and water filtration, in addition to helping to protect the environment, businesses are seeing a positive impact through increased worker productivity, and an overall improvement in health and morale, turning an environmental focus into solid business practices Disclaimer: www.InvestorIdeas.com/About/Disclaimer.asp
